Im slowly working and improving. The hardest thing for me at this point is nailing down a clear vision for what I want on these pages and then executing that in a way that is acceptable to me. I'm struggling to nail down a cohesive idea for tying these pages together, and when I do manage to coalesce my thoughts into a clear picture I have been getting a little lost in the weeds on how to make it happen, and the image poofs back into mist in front of my eyes.
This is my first ever blog post as I test functionality of the method i borrowed from this beautiful site. I've never been the greatest at keeping up with blogs, so I don't expect a whole lot of activity over here, but the only thing I can do is try.
Anyways, my name is babbs, babbs babbums. Born in 98', I was just beginning to form memories as the golden age of Geocities and MySpace was coming to a close. Even still, the nostalgia from seeing people's sites here on neocities hit me like a truck. It really makes me miss the simplier years of the internet, and while the current net will never go away, it is nice to pretend that this little hole we've carved out for ourselves exists in absentia of the horrors we see on a daily basis in the wider internet.
This is also my first foray into actually trying to learn how to code. I've done some python code academy courses and the like, but never with any real goal or purpose in mind. Neocities has convinced me that I too can make goofy kitchey websites like I remember surfing on my parents old PC. If kids and teens could do it in the 90's, surely an almost 30 year old can do it in 2026.
